About the episode
CRT 23 - In this short video, Dr Prakriti Gaba (Brigham and Women's Hospital, US) joins us to discuss the late-breaking data from a pooled analysis of four trials comparing coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with left main disease: SYNTAX, PRECOMBAT, NOBLE and EXCEL. In this study, individualised patient data were pooled and categorised based on the presence or absence of diabetes mellitus at the time of randomization to analyse the impact of CABG and PCI on patient mortality.
Questions:
- What is the rationale for this pooled analysis?
- What was the patient population and study design?
- What are the key findings?
- What should be the impact of these findings on daily practice and future research?
- What are the next steps?
Recorded remotely from Boston, 2023.
